Our Story

What do you get when you combine an aerospace engineer, Navy pilots, software engineers, and a neuroscientist? The UpskillAir team!

We are a unique blend of professionals with a shared passion for process improvement and aviation. Even though our career paths are diverse we realized that we all had a similar pain point; the need to improve training methods and knowledge transfer during turnovers.

This is particularly relevant in the aviation industry. Current instruction is given in long form ground school and referencing that knowledge is labor intensive and not intuitive. Students face a steep learning curve needing to comb through dense manuals and handbooks as well as reference simplistic checklists. These traditional training methods fall short, are costly, and unable to keep pace with current technology and the dynamic demands of the aviation field.

Recognizing this shared problem got us motivated to create a solution. Leveraging our varied expertise, we set out to develop a revolutionary approach to aviation training and provide a better way for pilots to learn.

Our Mission

To modernize, standardize, and enhance training for the aviation industry creating a more efficient method for instructors and experts to transfer knowledge to students who can easily access and retain relevant instruction to increase learning outcomes.

Problem

In the aviation industry, particularly within flight schools and maintenance operations, ensuring consistent and effective training is a significant challenge. Student pilots often face steep learning curves, flight school operators struggle with standardizing instruction, and maintenance crews need up-to-date, precise information to ensure aircraft safety. Traditional training methods are often inefficient, costly, and unable to keep pace with the dynamic demands of the aviation field.

Solution

We created a customizable microlearning platform accessible via a mobile app. The platform delivers short, targeted video modules called MBytes created by top industry experts accessible by users instantly and on demand creating standardization and efficiency in aviation training. This updated and precise training aligns with current aviation standards and practices while simultaneously meeting the technology and learning needs of the student. Key features include the use of QR codes for quick access to specific training modules, AI driven recommendations for personalized training content, and augmented reality capabilities for an enhanced visual learning experience. Our innovative approach ensures that every stakeholder from instructors, students, and maintainers can share and receive pertinent training precisely when they need it. We believe this modernized method of training will foster a safer, more efficient learning and operational environment leading to better outcomes, experiences, and overall satisfaction.
